The Department of Anthropology, Geography, and Ethnic Studies invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with specific emphasis on applied biological anthropology. The person appointed to this position will teach at the lower and upper-division levels, including courses such as: Introduction to Physical Anthropology, Human Adaptation, Human Evolution, Bodies of Evidence (lab methods course), Talking Skeletons, as well as regional and topical courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization within biological anthropology. Additional duties may include online teaching and distance learning courses. Other responsibilities include recruiting, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure.
